This is our easiest and shortest tour. The trailhead is in beautiful Hope Valley, at 7,200 feet, just south of Lake Tahoe in Alpine County, California. After a brief orientation, a safety talk, and driving instruction, guests drive themselves, following their guide. The trail climbs rapidly, quickly heading deep into the backcountry. Looking west across Faith Valley, visitors see the dramatic Sierra Crest at nearly 10,000 feet. Crossing Charity Valley below Markleeville Peak the trail passes historic cabins built by early settlers.

Following the rim of Charity Canyon and another climb to 8,300 feet, it levels out for a view of a peak very appropriately named The Nipple. With many miles of groomed trails in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, every tour offers tremendous scenic opportunities.

Our Ultimate Tours go deep into the rugged Sierra Nevada above Hope Valley, California. Professional snowmobile guides – expert in off-trail, backcountry riding – lead small groups of riders. You’ll meet your guide in Hope Valley for a brief orientation and safety talk, then head out for a few quick warm-up turns. After that, the ride is limited only by the terrain and your group’s ability. With hundreds of square miles of terrain to explore, no two tours are alike. Elevations range from 7,200 feet at base to peaks of 10,000 feet and above. Mix in canyons, bowls, rivers, creeks, meadows, and alpine lakes, and you’ll discover some of the most beautiful and challenging scenery in North America. The area also has some of the snowiest winters in the country. That means snowmobile season starts early in the year and stretches well into spring.

Specialty Tour

Customized group or private event.

Lunch / Dinner Tour or maybe a Moonlight Tour?

Beginner to Advanced — you chose!

Lunch/Dinner Tours

Have a group that needs that special event? How about a picnic in the backcountry? Just ask for a private lunch tour and we’ll provide a gourmet box lunch. Take a break on the trail and enjoy a freshly made deli sandwich, a snack, a drink, and an incredible lunchtime view.

Sit-down dinners with real plates and linens? Music? Candlelight? Just ask and we’ll begin building a special tour that you and your friends will remember forever.

Moonlight Tours

John Muir called the Sierra Nevada “the Range of Light.” We have some of the most spectacular sunsets in the world. And a mountain moonrise can take your breath away. So when the conditions are just right, we plan a special moonlight snowmobile tour for a small group of friends. If you’d like to come along, ask us when the next one is planned.
